If I shut up the sky, so that there is no rain; or if I order locusts to devour
the land; or if I send an epidemic of sickness among my people; then, if
My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves, pray,
seek my face and turn from their evil ways, I will hear from heaven, forgive
their sin and heal their land.
This was spoken to the nation of Israel….in blood covenant with Yahweh.
Who is in blood covenant now? Those covered by the blood of Yeshua.
Those who have entered into covenant with Yeshua! That’s what
communion is all about! It is proclaiming that we have entered into blood
covenant.
God is not saying that the whole nation has to repent and turn from sin for
healing to come….He is saying those in blood covenant with Him must
examine themselves and turn (repent).
The sin and evil ways that God is talking about, now, in the context of the
new covenant, is evil and pride in the church!
WE DON’T NEED TO WORRY ABOUT THE PEOPLE AROUND US. WE
NEED TO EXAMINE OURSELVES AND PUT PRIDE AND EVIL FAR FROM
US!
We don’t need to look around at the world and see how evil it has become,
and be frustrated or alarmed at how decadent media has become, or how
low the bar has moved in the unbelieving world….God is not in covenant
with the world, he is in covenant with US! …this verse is about the
remnant, those who call themselves born again…those who confess the
name of Jesus. WE ARE HIS PEOPLE. HE IS TELLING US TO HUMBLE
OURSELVES AND SEEK HIS FACE AND TURN FROM OUR EVIL WAYS.
